''Raising Awareness of Forced Migration''Project Report has been published

The report of the 'Raising Awareness on Forced Migration (FARK) Project' funded by the Turkish Refugee Council and implemented in partnership with the Afghan Refugees Solidarity Association (ARSA) and Support to Life Association was published.

The report was shared with representatives of the public, international organizations, non-governmental organizations and participants at an online meeting on 14 September 2022, and solutions were presented by drawing attention to the problems in the field.

Some summary findings of the report are as follows:

Education: Our field work shows that Afghan refugees and their children face serious difficulties in education and training. It is seen that the most important factor affecting access to education is economic situation. The economic difficulties experienced by asylum seekers affect women and children deeply.

Solution suggestions: Awareness activities can be carried out in order to increase the awareness of the education opportunities provided by the Ministry of National Education for families and students. Preventive action/activities and/or non-governmental organizations working in this field can be supported, especially when the absence of children between the ages of 13-17 is detected.

Platforms such as the Partnership Network to Prevent Violence Against Children can be supported so that all stakeholder organizations working on child labor can carry out their work more efficiently. Projects on the subject can be designed in consultation with beneficiaries, institutions and organizations providing services on schooling.

Awareness activities can be organized for teachers. In particular, information can be transferred about issues such as peer bullying, which causes children to stay away from school.
