On the occasion of December 10, Human Rights Day, Mazlum Der Kayseri branch and Afghan Refugee Solidarity and Association organized a meaningful event.
Participation in the program held in Kocasinan cafe in Mimar Sinan Park was intense.The photography exhibition, where massacres, migrations, wars, robberies, tortures, assimilations, exiles and other violations of rights in different parts of the world were exhibited, attracted a lot of attention.
In the program where breakfast and food bazaar were held for the participants, it was reported that the income from the bazaar will be sent to the oppressed Afghan people who suffer from hunger and poverty in Afghanistan.
Hundreds of guests attended the Human Rights Day program, one of the ex-presidents of Kayseri Bar Association, Lawyer Fevzi Konaç, President of the Chamber of Restaurants and Pastry Shops Altan Aydemir, AK Party Kayseri Provincial President Şaban Çopuroğlu, Kocasinan Mayor Ahmet Çolakbayrakdar, branch heads and representatives of worker and civil servant unions, Mazlumder and Afghan Refugees Members and volunteers of the Solidarity and Aid Association and other guests attended.
Mazlumder Kayseri Branch President Ahmet Taş, who made the opening speech of the program, made a press statement about the rights violations against people who have been living in different parts of the world and in our country since December 10, 2020, and which are still happening and waiting for a solution.He stated that it is a duty of humanity to take care of human rights.
Afghan Refugee Solidarity and Association President Dr. Zakira Hekmat, in her speech in the program, expressed that a great human tragedy has been experienced in Afghanistan due to occupations, internal conflicts, poverty and poverty.
She expressed that they were very pleased and grateful that Mazlumder made a program with them in order to protect human rights.
Attorney Fevzi Konaç, one of the ex-presidents of the Kayseri Bar Association and the head of the Cihannüma Platform in Kayseri, who made a speech in the program, stated that the western countries, which have exploited many parts of the world for centuries, published their human rights declaration in 1948, and that, unfortunately, the western countries constantly violated their human rights with their exploitation, occupation and massacres.
He said that Western countries, which caused the death of tens of millions of people in the First and Second World Wars, needed to issue a Declaration of Human Rights after this shame on humanity, but he did not comply with this declaration and still continues to commit crimes against humanity in many parts of the world.
In the afternoon part of the program, former mufti of Kayseri Prof. Dr. Speaking on behalf of Şahin Güven in the program, which Şahin Güven could not attend due to his illness, the theologian-writer, educator Mehmet Ayman addressed the participants.
In his speech, Ayman stated that the Farewell Sermon on human rights contains important messages. He stated that what needs to be done in order for women's rights, blood feuds, the persecution of interest, the rights of family members and the human being, the blessed creatures created by Allah, to live a respectable social life, and to be a human and society that respects the rights of the creatures in accordance with his creation, were expressed in the Farewell Sermon. Mehmet Ayman's speech, which was listened carefully and calmly, was met with admiration by the audience.
The program, which started with breakfast at 10:00 am on Sunday, 12 December, continued until 16:30.
Throughout the program, speeches including breakfast, photography exhibition, greeting speeches, informative and important messages about human rights were made.
