Yesterday ARSA association hosted representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for refugees

In this meeting, the representatives of the organization talked about general challengues and met separately with the representatives of Afghan, Iranian, Iraq, and Syrian refugees.

Dr. Zakira Hekamt spoke about the general problems and challengues of refugees in Turkey which are listed below:

 

Health insurance problems, especially for people who have permanent illnesses and need medication and regular treatment.

Single men who have not been registered to Immigration Office since 2017 and currently face many restrictions throughout Turkey. They cannot even receive HES Code and therefore, they are not able to use Public transportation. 

After the interview, most of the cases are rejected. Even innocent children are not allow to register in school, they are denied the right to education. What is the guilt of these children?

Cases that have been rejected, even in the worst situation, his health insurance have not be been returned, the money for the operation and their medicines are recorded as loans, the insurance of these people must be returned.

A newborn baby are not allow to get an ID card if his or her family record has been rejected. How do you assess the vaccination and follow-up of this child according to the human rights convention?

What should be done for those who have already registered with the UN, interviewed and accepted but still rejected in an interview with Migration office Board?

Those cities that do not have Assam, do not have active legal office, how they should go for further process?

These were the questions raised during the meeting by the officials of ARSA from the representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees
