On the occasion of the 23rd of April National Sovereignty and Children's Day, children enjoyed flying kites at the kite festival held in the Talas parachute area. The teachers accompanied the children as they had fun to their hearts' content. The event was attended by the Deputy Director of the Provincial National Education, Ilyas Yilmaz, the Director of the National Education Branch, Mehmet Albostan, the PIKTES Office Representative, Ibrahim Bayram, and representatives of the Provincial Immigration Directorate, Elif Atalay and Behra Zulal Ozer. The President of the Afghan Refugees Solidarity and Cooperation Association, MD. Zakira Hekmat, said, "Due to the weather conditions, we were able to celebrate the 23rd of April National Sovereignty and Children's Day today. Children make up one-third of today's population and all of our future. They are the most innocent face of our tomorrow. Our common dream is to imagine a beautiful future for them. At the Kite Festival organized within the framework of the integration activities, our children made kites with their teachers and association employees. Our children are enjoying themselves flying their kites, and I thank everyone for their participation by wishing all the world's children a happy 23rd of April National Sovereignty and Children's Day.”

Ilyas Yilmaz, Deputy Director of Provincial National Education, also said, "I am very happy to be here with you today. There are always three important elements for us: the existence of the country, the unity of the country, and the happiness of our young people and our people. We saw these children very happy here. We were also very happy and delighted. We once again understand that our country will always be in place, it will be beautiful, and happy and beautiful days await us. I greet you all with respect and love and thank you. May your worst day be like today, and I entrust you to Allah."

The festival included play areas, workshop activities, and stage shows, as well as sports and fun activities accompanied by clowns and mascots, and children enjoyed face painting to their hearts' content.

This event was held within the scope of project called "Improving Community-based Social Services for Refugees and Vulnerable Residents of Host Communities in Türkiye (CLIP 2)” which is co-funded by the European Union through its Humanitarian Aid Operations department (ECHO) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft fu‌r Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
