The Asylum seekers and Refugees Solidarity Association (ARSA), in collaboration with the Green Crescent Counseling Center (YEDAM), organized an awareness training session on addiction. The training covered the personal and societal impacts of addictions, focusing primarily on tobacco products, alcohol, and drug use.
Participants were informed about the psychological and physiological dimensions of addiction, early warning signs, and possible pathways for overcoming addiction. The session highlighted how habits like smoking and substance use develop into addictions, how addiction affects brain function, and the importance of support mechanisms.
A YEDAM expert emphasized the need for individuals struggling with addiction to access healthy support networks, both for themselves and their loved ones. The training saw high participation from women, who actively engaged in the session through questions and comments. At the end of the event, attendees received information on how to access support services.
