While the devastating effects of the February 6th earthquake are still being felt, ARSA Association organized an important training aimed at increasing societal resilience to disasters and raising awareness about disasters among disadvantaged groups. Supported by Terre des Hommes (TDH), the project included disaster awareness training provided by Gökbörü Association, which was conducted at ARSA Association.
Before the training, the participants' knowledge of disasters was assessed. Throughout the training, vital topics such as "the risks around us, preparations before a disaster, proper behavior during a disaster, the importance of the first hours after a disaster, and how to prepare an emergency kit" were discussed in detail. Participants were informed about how to be prepared both individually and collectively for potential disasters.
The strong interest shown in the training highlighted the need for greater disaster awareness among all segments of society. ARSA Association aims to minimize the impact of future disasters through such educational initiatives and to ensure that all parts of the community are prepared for emergencies.
This training, supported by Terre des Hommes, once again demonstrated the role of civil society organizations in creating societal benefits through collaboration. ARSA Association continues to plan and implement trainings aimed at empowering disadvantaged groups and will continue its work in this field.
