An information session on the right to education was held at the Afghan Refugees Solidarity and Assistance Association on 19.01.2024.
Participants were told about the right to education in national and international legislation, how international protection applicants can benefit from the right to education, and the necessary steps for registration to universities.
The information meeting was not only limited to discussing the issues, but also a question-answer session was held with the participants in an interactive environment, allowing a better understanding of the issues and sharing personal experiences. This interactive session provided an opportunity for the participants to learn more and clear their doubts on the subject.
Such information meetings help refugees live a safer and more conscious life by contributing to the society's awareness of their legal rights and protection mechanisms.
This event was held within the scope of profect called "Improving Community-based Social Services for Refugees and Vulnerable Residents of Host Communities in Türkiye (CLIP 2)” which is co-funded by the European Union through its Humanitarian Aid Operations department (ECHO) and the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and implemented by Deutsche Gesellschaft für Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ).
The session ended by answering the questions of the participants.
