Dr. Zakira Hekmat, President of Afghan Refugee Solidarity Association met with Rina Amiri, US Special Envoy for Afghan Women, Girls, and Human Rights in Ankara.


During the meeting, Amiri and Hekmat discussed the problems faced by women and teenage girls in Afghanistan. Focusing especially on education, Hekmat said: "The last two generations have been left without education; the current generation cannot go to high school after secondary school, and the previous generation could not continue their education after high school. The right to education is a fundamental human right and no one should be deprived of the right to education and training." Hekmat and Amiri stated that they would further their vital work to support the rights of Afghan women and girls and talked about solutions.
